Also sprach mabinm@valuerx.com : :My application executed a select into temp table query. It then did a select :on the temp table limiting the results returned by rowid. What worked in the :former database leads to an error 857 "rowids do not exist on table" in the :new database. Are there any parameters that might be set to cause the :creation of temp tables without rowids? Another note of interest, both :databases have tables with rowids on them. DO you have more than one dbspace specified in DBSPACETEMP? If the answer is yes, then that is likely your problem. When you do, any temp tables will be implicitly fragmented by round robin across the available temp dbspaces. Fragmented tables do not have rowids available unless created with the WITH ROWIDS option (which adds a seial-like field and an index, i.e. it ain't really a rowid). The easiest thing to do is set the DBSPACETEMP environment variable (which will override the config parameter) to one of the temp dbspaces. The temp table will then be unfragmented and rowids should be available.
