What is the correct way to stop a continuous backup of logical logs through
ontape -c?
I'm currently testing backup and restore with ontape on a test instance.
When I go to do the restore, I've been using control-c to stop ontape -c and
it appears to like this. (It says 'Interupt received' and then lists the
logs contained on the tape.) I start the restore (ontape -r) and everything
goes fine, until I restore logical logs. It says 'Restoring logical logs',
reads the tape drive for a few minutes and everything appears to be going
fine. However, it never does anything else. I've let hours go by and it
still just sits there saying 'Restoring logical logs' with out accessing the
tape drive at all. I think that maybe it's just not recognizing the EOF on
the tape because I closed ontape -c incorrectly, but I'm not sure. Any help
you could give would be great! Thanks

Hi,
What you are doing is fine. ontape captures the break signal and closes the tape
correctly. This is the big difference vs. kill -9 !!
