Thus, I have been writing |> a gateway program(WWW<-->informix) and will be getting into ESQL- |> C soon. Is there anybody doing this too? Yes. I've done this. There are a great number of issues w/r/t how much access you want to give people to your database (since traditional web servers have a very limited concept of identity--given the stateless protocol--and the coarseness of web access control). To avoid many of these issues and handle the uses I required, the implementation being used esql/c functions accessed through CGI scripts to manipulate the database accesses w/o allowing arbitraty db views (since the web server has a single UID). To avoid cluttering the list with web-specific postings, anyone interested can contact me directly (I'd recommend the address in the sig, I uses this one only for news). -Jason ============================================================= Jason Bluming Enterprise Integration Technologies jbluming@eit.com (415) 617 - 8018 (office) | 459 Hamilton Avenue 617 - 8019 (fax) | Palo Alto, CA 94301 =============================================================
