RE: Microsoft Access & ODBC for Informix

Hi >Jefrrey wrote> >>1-) Can I use Microsoft Access For Windows 95 to read any informix database >>no matter which version it is. >> For example a database created with inforix for DOS version 2.x I don't think so, the driver that I know works is the one supplied with New Era 2.xx. It is version 5 (5.xx....I cant remember off-hand). Call Inix and ask for the 16-bit driver supplied with New-Era 2.12. This can be used by third party products to access local and remote databases. However I am unsure about databases created with the version you mentioned. Good luck. >>2-) Is There any ODBC that I can use for informix. Not sure what you mean here, are you talking about third party drivers? If so the Openlink ODBC driver works well I'm told (if you can set it up). Check out http://www.openlinksw.com If you are talking about Informix ODBC drivers then your best bet is the one I mentioned above Regards >Dave >david@west.co.za >Senior Software Consultant >The West Solutions Group >Friends help you move...REAL friends help you move bodies! >
