RE: installing ids on linux

Dan, You should also face another problem related to 'cpio -c' When You install IDS, You might see the following misleading message: "Error: Out of space on $TMPDIR. Set environment variable TMP to a directory with atleast 50 MB space." This message is caused by the BUG in the 'installonline', 'install_gls' and 'install_msg' scripts: these scripts also use '-c' CPIO flag to uncompess ANSI-incompatible archive, and erroneously display absolutely incorrect error message. Just correct these scripts and remove '-c' flag. ------------------------------------------ Alexey Sonkin Senior Database Administrator > -----Original Message----- > From: Daniel [mailto:dhw377@nothing.no.spam.com] > Sent: Monday, February 09, 2004 11:28 PM > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: Re: installing ids on linux > > Alexey, > > Thank you very much.
