Informix Online ESQL/C for OS/2 and Networking

I have need to connect an OS/2 client to a UNIX based Informix Online database server. This client would be an application with embedded SQL inserting and retrieving data from the central database. I have some questions concerning the Online product set I was hoping someone could answer, or perhaps know who I could contact. Looking at the Informix Price lists there are several ESQL/C packages for runtime and development, but there are no Informix-Net PC packages for OS/2. This latter component is the one, as I understand, which provides the connectivity to the UNIX client, at least in the DOS world. 1) If I'm developing an OS/2 ESQL/C application, do I need to buy both runtime and development packages? or does development include runtime. 2) Can an ESQL/C OS/2 application issue SQL queries against a UNIX database? Or, in the OS/2 environment must the database be local to the OS/2 client? Again, any help you can give would be appreciated. It would be best to email any replies since I don't normally subscribe to these newsgroups. -- Neil Law, Architecture, Document Management Systems Imaging Systems Division, INTERNET: Neil.A.Law@Waterloo.NCR.COM NCR Canada Ltd., UUCP: {uunet!ncrcom,watmath}!ncrwat!53iss6!neil Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA BELL: 519-884-1710 x645 NCR: 643-1645
