Re: TEXT type / querying

What version of the Database? If you have 11.10.xC1 or better (the x can be U or F or T) Then you have access to the Basic Text Search datablade , which would mean you could still fully search on CLOB (Character Large Object) type, and use essentially they same type of syntax as you use to search Google or Yahoo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Praise the Lord oh my soul, let my inmost being praise His holy name. -Psalm 103:1 ----- Original Message ---- From: Jeroen Keppens <jeroen.keppens@nmv.be> To: informix-list@iiug.org Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 4:21:07 AM Subject: TEXT type / querying Hi, we need to store plain text in a table with possibility to search on it. New to Informix, I had a look at the text character types. A LVARCHAR(4000) is too small (largest text atm 118K), so we need another solution. I thought about using the TEXT type, but apparently you can't do queries (LIKE) on that. What is usually used for this? How do you query on it if TEXT? Thanks for the info, Jeroen _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list
