Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
O Khan asked how to move the sysadmin database out of rootdbs. Jacques Renaut pointed to an SQL admin API function for 11.70, noting it resets the database and loses task or sensor customisations. Khan asked about dbexport/dbimport instead, which was not answered. Art Kagel also pointed to the SQL API function for moving sysadmin.

Hi,
I am using OAT (IBM Open Admin Tool for Informix), and i have seen that
sysadmin database is created in the rootdbs which is consuming lots of space.
So is there any possible way through which I can move the sysadmin database
out of the rootdbs?
Or i have to do the dbexport/dbimport?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Khan

Response:
Well, assuming you have 11.70 you could do the following:

doc%2Fids_sapi_070.htm
Only thing is it "resets" the database and apparently you'd lose any
task/sensor customization you may have done.

Hi,
If i wanted to avoid the resetting of database, then can i do it using the
dbexport/dbimport as well or it will work or recommended?
Thanks.

Khan
There is an SQL API function to move the sysadmin database. See this link:
