Tuning NETTYPE parameters (maybe duplicate)
Posted in 2003
MAYBE DUPLICATE: Hello, what are the key values to decide if the network configuration of the database server (e. g. NETTYPE parameter settings) has reached its optimum state? The environment to tune: The hardware is HP-UX 11.11 , 4 CPUs . Application and database are running on the same server but are using TCP-connections due to the fact, that the application requires more than one database connection per process. There are about 200 concurrent connections issuing relatively small statements but very often. The rule of the thumb ipcshm on CPUVPs and soctcp on NETVPs is already done with: NETTYPE ipcshm,1,100,CPU (almost not used) NETTYPE soctcp,6,60 NET (may be far too high - I don't know how to tell) Examining wait states 'mt yield' comes in front of 'running' - the next is 'aio' with about half the number of 'running'. Does that say anything about client connections? Thank You for any response Andreas Kutsche
