Hello, today I tried to install the Informix client sdk 3.81 on a Mandrake 9.2, but after googling and many tries I always got the same message: cannot SQLConnect or something similar. I don't have Informix on my pc, the server is a HP L2000 HP-UX 11.00 Informix IDS 7.31 64 bit. I can't figure how to have odbc working. From windows and a quite old K250 HP-UX 10.20 Informix 7.31 32 bit, I can connect without problems. I followed the Informix instructions and the howto on the unixODBC site but nothing works. Is there anyone with some ideas or i have to install the IDS on my pc too? Thanks in advance, Davide

Today I was in search for the problem; it is like the isql from unixODBC opens all the needed files without problems, but a dump of the network packets reveal that the connection isn't made. I found only an arp request but nothing else. On the other hand a ping have the arp request and a packet out and in for every ping. Now I have no ideas of what has happened. I have also set all the variables Informix need, INFORMIXDIR, INFORMIXSERVER, PATH, INFORMIXSQLHOSTS. Can someone help me? Thanks, Davide
