Pablo, What you forget is that if you are using raw devices and have used the actual device names i.e. /dev/dsk/c1d0t0 upon initialisation then you cannot easily 'rename' this device moving the device to a different controller or address. Since this information is stored in the archive then as Neil says, you will have to unload/load the database and re-initialise the engine.
