This concerns IDS 11.70.TC5IE on Windows Server 2008 . This article http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v117/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm .perf.doc%2Fids_prf_750.htm defines buffer_value = (BUFFERS * pagesize) + (BUFFERS * 254) + 250000and goes on to say: âIf you have multiple buffer pools, add the buffer sizes for each buffer pool togetherâ . I take this to mean that, if I have a 4k pool and an 16k pool, I would do this: buffer_value = 250000 + BUFFERS1 * (pagesize1+254) + BUFFERS2 * (pagesize2+254) ) Is that what it means? Also, the article says locks_value = LOCKS * 44 44->128What is the 44->128 doing there and why is 44 used when the same manual states that locks are 120 bytes each? http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v117/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm .perf.doc%2Fids_prf_750.htm The same article says rsegsize = 1.02 * (buffer_value + locks_value + logbuff_value + physbuff_value + 51,200 51,200->1,200,000) / 1024What is the 51,200->1,200,000 doing there?
