Re: Bad ESQL/C Memory Configuration

The only time I've seen memory problems is when doing multithreaded programming, in which case you may have to specify the attributes before creating the thread to increase the stack size beyond 1 MB. This shouldn't limit dynamicly allocated memory, though.. You should be able to allocate (approx.) up to whats available in swap. Try looking at your process size before and after the connect statement using ps -elf. Also try looking at free swap using swap -l. Another possibility is that the heap is getting corrupted by memory mismanagement. Try moving the connect and allocation statements to the top of your'e main() function to eliminate other problem areas. This would be a good place for a tool like Purify. -Peter Christian Kissner wrote: > I have a problem allocating medium-sized memory when using ESQL-C. > Actually, it happens after connecting to my Database: All the > Memory I can get is just below 8MB ! > > Though this is a serious problem considering the amount of Data > to be processed and the slowness of connections, I am almost > certain, that this is a feature, not a bug.
