Informix Users

Please Help - As a QA Analyst we are testing our software to now run under the Informix Database backend. Although I have installed Informix on a server and can connect using the "Informix" user from a client, our software allows multiple users for each database created. How can I get other users to connect to the Informix database? I have tried to enter other users in using the Domain Users Manager under NT Server with no luck. I realize this is probably an easy one but be gentle as we are all Informix rookies. -- Posted via Talkway - http://www.talkway.com Exchange ideas on practically anything (tm).

What you have done - is the 1st step. The second step is to grant
priveleges to users at Informix level. Something like this :
GRANT CONNECT TO username;
This statement allows user with username connect to your database.

David, Using OpenLink's drivers and its Rules Based configurations, you can map all clients to access the database using one or multiple Informix UID/PWD combinations. hi you will have to grant the users you have created the log on locally right before you can use them on all Nt Online versions i have used. Select user rights of the policy menu in user manager and then click the advanced user rights in the bottom left you should them be able to use the accounts Nb you will also find that the user id will have to be under 8 characters before it will work.
