Thanks for your help so far. It is much appreciated.
We've installed Service Pack 5300-05-06.
The output from oslevel -r:
5300-04
The output from oslevel -s:
5300-04-CSP
We still have the same problem.
Andreas: What is PMR?
David: These are the outputs of the commands that you asked for:
The output of onstat -g ses:

Please look at the APAR's already supplied (All memory leak issue IBM
provided me are listed below, some are fixed) as AIX has at least a
few issues with memory access issues.
Also if you notice the Service Pack was not completely installed.
Other wise your server would return "5300-05-06".
Have the admin find what is below the required tech level and upgrade
it. If any of the down level have "bos" in them then you are not
properly patched.

For IY91677 you can do the following to see if this is a problem. It
takes 100's of connections to make my server reproduce the issue but
we easily do thousands and hour.
#################################################################################
a. Obtain the process id (PID) for the MSC VP using:
onstat -g glo |grep mscb. Use the PID to check memory size of the oninit:
ps -elf |grep PID
c. Repeat step 'b' several times to validate oninit growth.
#################################################################################
Or use this little bit of ksh;
#################################################################################
#!/bin/ksh
export ONCONFIG=****YOUR VALUE****
export INFORMIXDIR=****YOUR VALUE****
export INFORMIXSERVER=dms
export PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:.:$INFORMIXDIR/bin:export LIBPATH=$INFORMIXDIR/lib:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/tools:/usr/lib
MSC_PID=`onstat -g sch |grep msc |sed "s/ */~/g"|cut -f3 -d'~' |head -1`
ps_elf_data=`ps -elf |grep $MSC_PID |grep -v grep`
runtime=`date '+%Y%m%d%H%M%S'`
echo "$runtime $ps_elf_data" >> /u/informix/log/msc_info_dms.out
#################################################################################
This is the list I got from IBM a few months ago;
IY91677
IBM APAR IY91677: ADD MEMORY CACHING FOR LIBS GETUSERATTR/PUTUSERATTR CALLS.
Error description: Long running processes that fetch
user attributes will leak memory.
