Fact of the matter many DSS systems are built right on top of an RDBMS we do just that for or CROME product http://www.quantumsi.com/, the point is you can probably always write custom code to max out performance for a given probelm set (3-15X) but you lose flexibility and the possibility to link your data trough a known access interface ESQL , SQL, ODBC and many times that is a lot to give up. Looking at your data in the right way many times can provide fantastic performance - this includes adding keys or indecies using summary or rollup tables to ease the burden of repetitive queries and tuning your hardware/software. - Jon > Thank you! > > Chris
