RE: Disk Crash

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, but I'm getting the following when I do an oninit
17:15:18 Event alarms enabled. ALARMPROG =
'/informix/rt/exe/etc/ppsl_log_full
.sh'
17:15:22 DR: DRAUTO is 0 (Off)

17:16:09 Informix Dynamic Server Stopped.
17:16:09 mt_shm_remove: WARNING: may not have removed all/correct segments
When I try to do a cold restore, I'm getting the following error message on
all my tapes;
"Physical restore failed - function read archive backup failed code -error
22"
I would hate to think that I cannot restore from archive. What other options
do I have. The fact that only my rootdbs is damaged, is there any possible
way I can recover the data from the other good dbspaces/disks? I have a
similar schema of that database on another instance; plus I have a hardcopy
printout of all the dbspaces (chunks) of my affected instance. Is there any
way around recovering this data on the good dbspaces..
I eagerly await any feedback on this
Thanks for your input..
regards

Did you just relink and restart the engine? No, try either of the

1 - Shutdown

2 - relink the original chunk link to the current mirror
3 - relink the original mirror link to the replacement chunk
4 - restart
5 - drop the 'mirror' chunk
6 - readd the mirror chunk.
