In fact, Informix does not require a separate login at all, which has its advantages and disadvantages. I find that good, in the following sense the sys admin can concentrate on making the operating system secure there is no separate accounts to maintain, easier for sysadmin there is no separate passwords to remember, easier for users However, because Informix requires trusted hosts on the system, this makes the job of maintaining a secure network extremely difficult. In a client server environment, the user has the option of saving his password in the I-Net for Windows, which is probably a serious security breach. >Anyway, you have been kind enough to read this much. So does anyone have >any thought or solutions to this problem? > Nope, I don't think I have a solution you want. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@brel.com.sg> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
