465 Error reading blob images
Posted in 2003
Using IDS 9.30.FC1 on HPUX 11i, we're having some problems with reading blob images. We're working on a project to read in large numbers of blob images and store them off onto another media (outside of the Informix engine). Our VB program runs along fine for many hours, then sporadically in the middle of the night, it gets a "-465 No more memory for locator buffer." error and dies. This program does mostly reads. The program only seems to get this error when we have more than 1 session running, and each session runs for over 8 hours before we start seeing this error.
select debid ,credfo from dcs_blob:table1
where (debid = ? ) AND (accid = ? )
and sometimes:
update dcs_blob:table1 set path = ? where
(debid = ? ) AND (accid = ? )
The error comes up on the read statement. Any clue what's going on? What resource am I running out of? (and why am I running out of it after 8 to 12 hours of processing?) (I do have an case open with Tech Support - they suggested that I'm running out of /tmp or tempspace which I'll test for tonight.)
TIA!
(Simplified) table schema:
create table table1 (
debid integer ,
accid smallint ,
hitflag char(1),
path char(80),
credfo text in ods_blobspace,
updatedatetime datetime year to second
default current year to second
) in ods_dbspace11 extent size 160000 next size 16000 lock mode row;
create unique index xstcreditrptpkey on stcreditreport
(debid,accid) using btree in ods_dbspace10 ;
alter table stcreditreport add constraint primary
key (debid,accid) constraint ustcrdrep_credrqst ;
ods_blobspace contains about 70 GB of blob images at 10K blobpage.
