Perusing this forum might give you an idea as to whether the products are stable. I work for a large US bank; we run both Online v7 and v5 for various applications. Even within v7 we run a release a little bit off the latest, and it seems fine for our purposes. I like to stick with a stable release and not migrate until: (1) Useful new functionality is introduced or (2) A troublesome bug is fixed or (3) We are obliged to do so by the terms of our support contract.
