Does anbody knows a way to transfer a database from IDS 7.31 to IDS 10.0 ?
Our application mainly runs on a server with client/server access but we could
also install the database on a notebook. This is very useful if one wants to
see some data when travelling.
The transfert is initiate by the user.
We always have the same IDS version on the server and the notebook but today i
have a windows 2000 server with a pretty old version (7.31TD4) and a notebook
with xindows XP for wich i install ids 10.0.
I try to use ontape for backup on the server an restore on the notebook but ot
failed with message :
Physical restore failed - function read archive backup failed code -1 errno 0
In the past, we used unload/reload but it could take a long time depending on
the database size.
Can anybody give me some help about this error or the best way to do this ?
Best regards.

Set up sqlhosts on each so they can see each other, then for each
table; "insert into 10db select * from 7.3 db" kinda thing?
