Hi there ! > >Hang on a minute though. Jasmine has a relational storage > >manager AFAIK. How come it is an ODBMS then? > > > ??? Jasmine is an Object oriented database (aka OODBMS), whats this > about having a "relational storage manager"? I haven't seen anything > "relational" about it in the last 12 month's I've been playing with > it? Michael Kay, gave me this explanation one time: http://www.dejanews.com/getdoc.xp?AN=346046896 It's data model is object-oriented (as we all "know"), but on the bottom it act more like a RDBMS. hmmm Maybe that's why it don't support object clustering because it _can't_ ? IMV: One of Jasmines disadvantages, beside it's full automatic class extent feature (which can mean less performance). Any comments on this ? (remember that Jasmine use extent in anohter way than ODMG-93 (extent) define it, and "I" use it). On the other side, not many OODBMS has CA behind them, and they are comming fast ! :-) Hope this helps ! Take care, Erlend
