The specs can be anonymously ftped from ftp.dg.com, they're in a sub-dir named tpc or something similar. Anyway it's fairly obvious. Interestingly, DG try and avoid quoting TPC benchmarks when they're trying to sell you a machine (at least our local sales of- fice does ;-) ). They prefer the AIM-III benchmarks. However, I don't know if it is possible to get hold of the programs that AIM use. It should not be too difficult to replicate some of the TPC benchmarks though. I'm currently working on a suite of programs to do just that for a client I'm doing some work for. > - Suggestions of good journal/magazine > articles on the TPC benchmark. > - Reports or articles of TPC benchmarking > done on the following UNIX platforms > running INFORMIX 4.x or 5.x: > HP9000 series (Any model) > DEC 5000 series (model 200 or 240) > Any Intel 80486 based machine > Thanks in advance > jcantu@ntia.its.bldrdoc.com Can't help with the above items. Although I suspect that some reputable database magazine would contain articles on the TPC benchmarks. You could probably e-mail the TPC people themselves for that info.
