If you are running out of space, then that implies that your database space is simply getting too full, or that you have too many extents currently allocated for the table itself. If you run tbstat -d and it appears that there is very little free space left in the database space that this table uses, then you might want to add another chunk to that database space. If it appears that the database space has plenty of free space, then you might want to run a tbcheck -pt on that table. If there appear to be a large number of extents (i.e. in excess of 150), then you might have to consider unloading and reloading the table itself. One other thing to consider --- Information about indexes is also contained on the same page that the extents are located on level 5.x. That means that if you have a lot of indexes on that table, then you will not be able to have as many extents for that same table. If this appears to be the case, you might consider manually dropping the index and then re-creating it. This way the space that was used for the prior index is available for re-use when the index is rebuilt. AND FINALLY ONE MORE ITEM----- ;) The index build will require space for sorting. Make sure that your /tmp and/or DBTEMP space is not too full. Madison Pruet
