You could use the CLI for ODBC access. It *is* an ODBC driver. I think they still charge for it though so you will have to buy it as a separate product. It uses I-Connect but that comes free with your engine. Your sales rep *may* confuse I-Connect with the CLI, but I may also not be up to date, so even the CLI *may* be free by now. If you haven't got it you can download it from the Informix web site. Try www.informix.com/tyrbuy and download the Relational Object Manager. It includes I-Connect and is an ok tool in itself. The best solution is to use the OpenLink ODBC drivers. They have several advantages in features and functionality (security is a significant point here, particularly as you plan to use MS Access). You can download a free trial version from their web site at www.openlinksw.com Make sure you get the server based version that do not need I-Connect at all (*not* the Lite version). Do read their whitepaper on ODBC and what they have done with it.
