ODBC and AIX

ids v11.70.fc2 OS aix 6.1 We are trying to setup an ODBC connection from an Aix 6.1 system without a DB, just running the Client SDK (v11.70.fc2) to a second AIX 6.1 server with the DB (v11.50.fc7). I'm trying to find an example of doing this, but can't seem to locate one. If anyone can point me to a doc that would have this info, I'd greatly appreciate it.
