But it's not difficult to adapt vi to do a lot of those things with some maps and little shell scripts. I'll admit it's not as slick. A plus point for vi - it does not user a mouse to slow you down ;-). So far as code goes, isn't the compiler a spelling checker? I couldn't resist your sig - "To develop with a 4GL, the developer does not have to be an expert programmer." but you still need to be able to design (and that's the hard part of developing).
