Help Requested: Error 25592 Installing SE 7.24 on AIX 4

Informix SE Version: 7.24UC7
AIX Version: 4.3.2
I have just installed Informix on this box. When I try to bring up
sqlexecd I get error
25592 "Communications service not supported by network driver"
I am trying to start the process as root. My environment variables look
like this:
INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix
INFORMIXSERVER=mis_se
DBPATH=/mis (Path to the mis.dbs directory)
INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=/usr/informix/etc/sqlhosts
My sqlhosts file looks like this:
tool_se seipcpip clm sqlexec
mis_se seipcpip clm sqlexec
All files have the appropriate permissions and are owned by informix. It
looks to me like there is a Unix service that I need to start. The release
notes mention
that the Portable Streams Environment and Asynchronous I/O need to be
loaded
and I have done that as well.
Can anyone tell me the step I am missing?
Thanks In Advance
Dave Thacker
Do the release notes state that pipe connections are supported on AIX?
They are not supported on all platforms! The release notes list all of
the supported connection types.

sqlexecd supports network connections.
The mis_se entry says to use pipes, not network connections.
Change the protocol to setlitcp or sesoctcp (see your release notes),
and it should then work. The local clients on the clm machine can
use tool_se or mis_se; the remote clients will then use mis_se.
