why does DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM have the prefix "DS"

In Informix Administrator's Reference, I see: Use the DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM configuration parameter to increase the amount of memory that is available for a query that is not a Parallel Database Query (PDQ). My questions are: Now that DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM is for NONPDQ, why does it have the prefix "DS" which means Decision Support and PDQ? Is "the memory pool specified by DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM" a part of "the memory pool specified by DS_TOTAL_MEMORY"?
Yes. It comes out of DS_TOTAL_MEMORY. It was a name for some of the parallel query features. At one time, there was Informix Extended Parallel Server with Advanced Decision Support Option (XPS/ADSO), or thereabouts. -- Jonathan Leffler <jonathan.leffler@gmail.com> #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix - v2011.0612 - http://dbi.perl.org "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused." --00163692099059116b04a62607e6
Jonathan, thank you for your explanation about "DS". Maybe I need to clarify my question. My question is: DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM is for non-PDQ queries. But "DS" means PDQ. Why do "DS" and "NONPDQ" appear in "DS_NONPDQ_QUERY_MEM" at the same time?
Art, thank you for your reply!
