RE: How to Constrain smallint Positive Number only?
Posted in 1997
Hi John !
It is called DATA INTEGRITY, and it can be accomplished by the "CHECK"
feature in INFORMIX-SQL.
Just like the following:
abc smallint check abc > 0 (Please check the sintax)
Or you can ALTER the table in which case all rows must satisfied the
condition.

Asunto: How to Constrain smallint Positive Number only?
I'm try to figure out to restrict smallint data type to positive numbers
only...Can this be done. I'm using Informix Workgroup Server 7.1.
the schema I what to modify is like this:
create temp table table_name(column_name smallint default 1)
if this can't be done with smallint, is there another way.
All help appreciated....
