Backup scripts

We are using Informix 7.31.TC2 on an NT 4.0 machine and are having difficulty with the continuous logging process. Does anyone have a script that would guide us through the process? For example, if we turn continuous logging on, how do we turn it off (without sitting in front of the console) and then back up the logs so that we can then run a full instance backup? Our intent is to script this process so more than just one person can actually invoke and/or monitor the process. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi,
I guess you're currently utilizing "ontape" ?
I'm not really into the Windows-World. :-)
But I suggest that you utilize ON-Bar instead
of ontape. It can do all the log backup and
dbspace archive activities without needing
interaction with someone "sitting in front of
the console". And this should even work
on the Windows platform ... :)
Please see the manual "Backup and Restore
Guide" for more information on ON-Bar.
Regards,
Martin
