How get libphp4.so..?
Posted in 2004
A beginner (Boris) built PHP 4 from source with Informix support and added LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so to Apache's httpd.conf, but Apache wouldn't start because libphp4.so didn't exist. Paul Watson explained that when PHP is built from source the shared module is produced and placed in the Apache directory (e.g. libexec) specified at ./configure time, implying the build wasn't configured as an Apache shared module, and pointed him to the PHP build notes at www.oninit.com/reference. No confirmation from the poster that this fixed it is recorded.

Did you build the php install or was it a binary? If you built it yourself then it will build the libphp.so file and 'should' put in the apachedir/libexec you specified in the ./configure Cheers Paul Boris wrote: > > Yes I did, but there is no file.... > > Where I can find this file ? > > Thank you > > Boris > > "Paul Watson" <paul@oninit.com> wrote in message > news:406C23A9.50B644C7@oninit.com... > > Install PHP > > > > Boris wrote: > > > > > > Thank you very much > > > > > > Boris > > > > -- > > Paul Watson # > > Oninit Ltd # Growing old is mandatory > > Tel: +44 1436 672201 # Growing up is optional > > Fax: +44 1436 678693 # > > Mob: +44 7818 003457 # > > www.oninit.com # -- Paul Watson # Oninit Ltd # Growing old is mandatory Tel: +44 1436 672201 # Growing up is optional Fax: +44 1436 678693 # Mob: +44 7818 003457 # www.oninit.com #
I am begginer and all I can say is: I download *.gz from internet, and gzip -d, tar xvf, and after that ./configure, make, make install. So everything was created OK... After that I run ./config.nice with additional parameters (Informix) and make and make install... I put some add lines in my httpd.conf: LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so AddType application/x-httpd-php .php I tried to start "apachectl start" but required libphp4.so is missed.... Apache was not started because of this.... What to do "Paul Watson" <paul@oninit.com> wrote in message news:406C2918.BF581682@oninit.com... > Did you build the php install or was it a binary? > If you built it yourself then it will build the libphp.so file and > 'should' put in the apachedir/libexec you specified in the ./configure > > Cheers > Paul > > Boris wrote: > > > > Yes I did, but there is no file.... > > > > Where I can find this file ? > > > > Thank you > > > > Boris > > > > "Paul Watson" <paul@oninit.com> wrote in message > > news:406C23A9.50B644C7@oninit.com... > > > Install PHP > > > > > > Boris wrote: > > > > > > > > Thank you very much > > > > > > > > Boris > > > > > > -- > > > Paul Watson # > > > Oninit Ltd # Growing old is mandatory > > > Tel: +44 1436 672201 # Growing up is optional > > > Fax: +44 1436 678693 # > > > Mob: +44 7818 003457 # > > > www.oninit.com # > > -- > Paul Watson # > Oninit Ltd # Growing old is mandatory > Tel: +44 1436 672201 # Growing up is optional > Fax: +44 1436 678693 # > Mob: +44 7818 003457 # > www.oninit.com #
