I've been using a Type 3 driver from SCO, which is available free for 30-day evaluation at http://www.vision.sco.com , for an applet that talks to an Informix OnLine 7.12 database. I believe the driver is still in pre-release phase, but it's been working for my query-only requirements. Also, check out http://www.javasoft.com for info on other driver vendors and stuff on JDBC.
