How to test conection from Windows PC to Linux ?

Hi to all,
I've just installed the Informix Developer Edition on a Linux CentOS 5.3. I've
configured the server as requested and it is running fine. From within
dbaccess I've created and populated several databases.
Mi trouble is that I can't find the way to connect to the server from a
Windows workstation. I've installed the IBM Informix Client SDK but when using
the ILogin Demo I don't know how to fill the login parameters that are
required.
In the Linux server theese are:
INFORMIXDIR=/opt/informix
INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=/opt/informix/etc/sqlhosts.demo_on
ONCONFIG=onconfig.demo_on
INFORMIXSERVER=demo_on
Can someone please tell me how to fill
Servicename: ?
Protocolname: ?
How can I test the conection?
Any help will be appreciated.
Hernando.
Servicename is the name associated with the tcp port or the tcp port itself.
You can get it from the INFORMIXSQLHOSTS file on the server side.
Protocol is onsoctcp
Hostname is the name of the server or it's IP address
Server is the value of $INFORMIXSERVER on the server side
The database should be a name of a "stores" database.
You can give other database name, with different schema... the effect is
that an empty box will appear (withou customer first and last name) but no
error will be raised if the database exists and you have connect privilege

Protocol is "onsoctcp". Service is the port number corresponding to the service name in the sqlhosts file. Art On Mar 23, 2011 7:24 PM, "HERNANDO DUQUE" <hduquec@hotmail.com> wrote: --bcaec50160c7000ca5049f312df7
