Re: .4gi size Problem
Posted in 1998
I'm sure there is some limit to the size of a 4gi, however I'm sure its not 800000 bytes. Most, of the programs I work on are 3,4 or 5 times the size of that. The size can ofcourse depend on the amount of raw memory and swap space that your machine has. What macine are you using? How much memory does it have? I work of a 10Mb SCO machine sometimes, and the programs are much bigger than 800000. My suggestion is that there is actually somthing wrong with the program, I've had this situation many times when a program will not work with the runner, but will execute fine witht the debugger. Study each line of code carefully, or comment out the last piece on code you added before the program stopped working then add it back in bit by bit until it core dumps again. You will then find the root of the problem. Mail me if you need any more detail.
