RE: IDS to DB2 conversion

I tend to agree with Jerry - I've been off the IIUG BoD for a couple of years now and while I have to admit I don't read the e-newsletters cover to cover I feel more in the dark than I remember feeling when I was on the BoD. That being said - what else is there to add to this conversation. Last night I waded thru approx 100 emails on this thread with little new input. Yes - sic the IIUG and Stuart on IBM - but I doubt if they will ever truly market the product. So does anyone have any loose change that would like to buy some DB technologies from IBM? If not, well IBM paid the $$$ to our friends (ACK) at Ascential and funded their company. They have every right to put the Informix stuff in a closet and throw away the key - at least they aren't doing that - you can still use the technology today and for the forseeable future. Yes - Like Tim I miss my old Informix technology - but I too have mouths to feed and there just isn't enough work to go around so it's off to other things.
