Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Frank asked whether a shared memory connection from dbaccess to an HDR secondary is allowed on IDS 11.50.FC8 (Red Hat Linux). Art Kagel believed it is permitted, and Jacques Renaut confirmed it works on the same machine if shared memory is configured properly. Frank confirmed there was no problem.

Secondary( with dbacess..), is it?
Thanks,
Frank

AFAIK, this is permitted.

Response:
No, as long as you are on that machine you should be able to use the shared
memory protocol to connect with dbaccess, as long as you configured it
properly (unless there's been some recent change that I'm not aware of, when
doing my hdr tests I usually don't step up shared memory stuff since I've got
the tcp/ip configured already)

Thanks Art and Jacques! It is allowed and no problem for shared memory
connection .
