problem compiling D4gl on Linux

Hi I have a 4GL program which compiled fine under D4gl 2.10.uc1 on Suse 6.1 and Caldera 1.3 but wont compile on Caldera 2.*, Redhat 6.*, or Mandrake 6.* I got the error .... "libf2c.a(u_file.o) In Function 'File::fileSize(char const *)' u_file.o(.text+0x2b3): undefined refernece to '_fxstat' I looks like a linking problem. If I compiled it on Suse 6.1 and bring it over to run it works fine that means its a compiler/library problem not a runtime /lib problem. What puzzled me even more is that Suse 6.1 uses glibc version 2 just like the other newer Linux distributions.
