Re: Novell Access to Unix Informix

While I do not know if this will work for you, as I am currently using the serial version only, I would recommend that you give WINQVT/NET a try. This is a shareware program published by QPC Software and is available on most of the PD software archive servers such as SIMTEL120 pr WUARCHIVE. I currently have both the serial version and the TCP/IP network version. We are still waiting on hardware/software to get our network up an running, so I have only used the serial version. I works great! I can open several windows at once to maintain multiple session with our Unix box. In fact I am writing this message to you on out Unix box, while I am testing an application in another window. If you like WINQVT, I suggest you register the program, it only costs $50 for either version. Write to: QPC Software P.O. Box 226 Penfield, NY 14526 I recommend to get a copy first off the Internet and try it out to see if it will meet your requirements. If you need it, I can send you a special keyboard map file that I have written to use with WINQVT that will match the function key assignment that are in mose Unix termcap files. This will allow you to use all of the function keys on a PC keyboard in an Informix program running on your Unix host. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Kane Internet: bob@worms-emh2.army.mil (IP 134.235.9.2) TechDyn Systems Voice: (049) 6241-75936 (GERMANY) CMR 421, BOX 706 Fax: (049) 6241-500154 APO AE 09056
