The 9.3 Performance Guide, Pg 13-16 and 13-17, lists five recommended steps for generating the proper statistics for tables. Step number four is: "For each multicolumn index, execute UPDATE STATISTICS LOW for all of its columns." Why would you not just run one US LOW for all non index leading columns that are part of an index? The recommended approach seems to be a bit overkill to me since many times the columns that exist in indexes are redundant, just in a different order. Thoughts anyone? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance: Get your refund fast by filing online. http://taxes.yahoo.com/filing.html sending to informix-list
