I am trying to perform Level 0 archives using ONTAPE to disk. I have
set the "tapesize" parameter in ONCONFIG to be very large (10 GB). I
have made the AIX file system to which the archive is being written a
"Large JFS" file system and I have tested via AIX that I can create a
file larger than 2 GB. But every time I attempt to do an ONTAPE level 0
archive, I get an error message from ONTAPE indicating that it can't
create the file (error 27) after creating a file on disk that is 1 byte
smaller than 2 GB.
I am running AIX 4.2.1 and Informix IDS 7.24.UC3. I even received from
informix Tech Support a special release of the ONTAPE command which was
supposed to fix this problem and which was not included in 7.24.UC3 by
accident.
Has anyone seen this before and have a suggestion on how to get Informix
to break this 2 GB barrier for ONTAPE backups to disk? I am also
pursuing this through Informix Tech Support.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
