Dbimport will lock the database being imported. There should be no effect on
any other database - UNLESS - the sessions connected to the other database
include remote references to tables in the database being imported. Perhaps
code lookups?

Are you
using views ??? probably your view is looking for some table in this 'dbimport
' database
