Remember the NewEra failure to catch on Yeah, New Era is a disaster, but the point is scalability of performance and the move to SMP architectures in the main Unix vendors (Sun, Hp, Ibm) at the time. This made the Informix product (6-7.x) a success, and grew the company for several years. The Datablade engine (9.x?) is too different to use, and there was no trend in the market for database objects when it was released, causing a marketing disaster and this thread. Jesus, do you guys ever actually read the postings?
