I'm not sure I'm understanding your question in its entirety, but you can always select the attribute colname from syscolumns, if you know the table name, in a stored procedure, and return the attribute, by the following in foreach loop: select c.colname from syscolumns c systables t where t.tabname=somename and t.tabid = s.tabid --Carol Davies cdavies@csc.com
