Make the Chkptintvl much higher, like 600. This will force the engine to do the cleanups separate from during the checkpoints. I'm using INFORMIX Dyamic Server Workgroup Edition 7.20.UC2 on SCO OpenServer and I'm getting checkpoints that lasts until 20 seconds . I reduced LRU_MAX_DIRTY and LRU_MIN_DIRTY to 10 and 5 respectively and the CHKPTINTVL to 60. I'm still getting checkpoints around 10 seconds. I have been monitoring the LRU's queue and the flushers activities and apparently the buffers are not being cleaning when reach the LRU_MAX_DIRTY parameter. Is there any another trick for reduce such time? thanks in advance. Ing. Melvin Perez Cedano Vicepresidente Tecnico CAM Informatica, S. A.
