ontape - hardware compression compatibility?

Using a Cybernetics CY-8505-dual for ontape backup and restores. Just began testing, seems that when using the cybernetics compression, Informix can not restore the data. It appears to read thru the tape during the restore but never writes anything to disk. Of course when this happens it leaves your dbspaces and chunks "down" - and ya don't want to go there! Any ideas?? Informix Dynamic Server 7.30.TC3 on NT 4.0 sp3. TIA Gary Eide
