Mirroring: Informix or AIX 4.1.5

We want to implement mirroring on an RS/6000 J40. Should we let Informix mirror the drives or AIX 4.1.5? We are currently using Informix 7.12 and are writing to a raw partition through the LVM. Since it is going through the LVM, the OS should theoretically be able to mirror it. The quesiton is: Which is overall faster and or better? Drew DeGraff
