Locales, CodeSets
Posted in 1998
I think I'm really close on this one... I am trying to connect an NT client (ilogin, dbexplorer) to a Sun based server v7.2. My current impasse is with codeset conversions (I think). The ilogin program returns an error -23115 which says: Code sets of the locale categories are not the same. (more) The dbexplorer program error is: Cannot display databases because the locale files installed on the client do not support conversions between the client and the locales of the databases. Unable to locate the locale or conversion file "en_US". Check the file system to ensure that this file residesd in the appropriate gls subdirectory. I installed Informix connect right from the cd with all the default params. I set INFORMIXDIR correctly. The server MAY have a non-default locale (de) set. (Where would I find this out on the unix server?) But if I understand the docs, the conversion should happen without my intervention assuming I have installed all I need. Where can I get the conversion files I seem to be missing and where should I put them? BTW, setnet shows nulls in all the locale & language variable. I played with this to no avail. --------------------------------------------------- Mike Morris Sterling Diagnostic Imaging Roads go ever ever on... morrisma@sterlingdi.com ===================================================
