Is this particular rumor true? > I just did a quick test of this on my 7.3 engine. It behaved like 7.2 in that if I didn't say "in dbspace" it created an attached index. I wouldn't worry about the detached/attached index business. What we did in 9.x was to make it so that by default when an index was *created* it would be detached. However, any existing attached indexes still functioned. In fact, the catalogue still used attached indexes. Basically we could process attached indexes, but would create detached ones. Madison Pruet
