Good Morning I have tested the below line on an Alpha 2100 running 7.30 FC5
under Tru64 4.0d pk4 and got the same error
Nick Leonard
Systems Administrator
Poole Hospital NHS Trust
>>> "Nick Kataria" <kataria.nick@emeryworld.com> 11/03/99 06:42pm >>>
Well, I got the same error on IDS 7.3 UC8 on Solaris 2.6. The SQL worked
well when I replaced max with min or avg or count(*) which suggest that the
table is not locked. It seems that we have a bug with max(partnum) on
sysmaster:informix.systabnames only. Max also works fine with tabname on
sysmaster:informix.systabnames .! I also tried set isolation to dirty read
and select.. for read only but the problem remains.
And, when I tried the same thing on IDS 7.31 UC2, it worked fine - no
problem at all.
